Deondra Montgomery is a junior at Arlington High School in Riverside, CA. She is receiving the Kmart for Kids award because of her contributions and dedication to civic duties for the United States.

Deondra is a third-year cadet in the Air Force JROTC where she serves as a Flight Commander and a member of the Rifle Team. Deondra is highly respected by her teachers and fellow peers because of her dedication to her classroom performance as well as extracurricular activities.

Deondra manages to maintain an outstanding GPA and is ranked 12th in her class of 430. She balances her academic career beautifully while acting as a Freshmen Peer Mentor and participating in various groups/organizations including the Link Crew, Hippocrates Circle, Advancement via Individual Determination, Association of Latin American Students and Riverside Youth Court.

Upon her high school graduation, Deondra plans on attending a four-year university and then medical school in hopes of becoming a neurological surgeon. Deondra also was recently honored as one of Riverside’s 25 Most Remarkable Teens.
